Boney M.'s star cast member Bobby Farrell visited the capital of Azerbaijan last weekend. On September 4, he and his band performed at the open area of the Studio2 Bavarius entertainment complex, which is located in the suburbs of Baku, on the shores of the Caspian Sea.
For various reasons, the concert, announced for July, was postponed twice. At first, the public was promised a visit from a group led by Liz Mitchell, but later it became known about the arrival of a team led by Farrell. And finally, on September 4, the artists nevertheless reached the capital of the new oil and gas emirate in the expanses of the former USSR. Having grown rich on petrodollars, Azerbaijan can now afford entertainment that the local population could not even dream of before.
The arrival of expensive foreign stars is not considered something extraordinary there now, it is enough to remember that this country spent a record amount on the promotion of its applicants in the latest EUROVISION competitions.
Therefore, it is not surprising that the appearance of Boney M. Show feat. Bobby Farrell did not cause much excitement among the spoiled metropolitan residents. The organizers were not helped even by the advertising campaign with the draw of the BMW530 prize car, which, as a result, went to one of the spectators who threw her ticket number into the lottery machine.
However, according to the local press, those who gathered on Saturday night at the Boney M. show with Bobby Farrell were not disappointed. The performance was a big success and the legendary showman was able to quickly make a very respectable audience dance.
After the concert, as always, there was a meeting with grateful fans, autographs were distributed and joint photographs were taken as a keepsake.
Участник звёздного состава Boney M., Бобби Фаррэлл (Bobby Farrell), в минувшие выходные побывал в столице Азербайджана. 4 сентября он вместе со своей группой выступил на открытой площадке развлекательного комплекса Studio2 Bavarius, который находится в пригороде Баку, на берегу Каспийского моря.
По разным причинам концерт, заявленный на июль месяц, дважды переносился. Сначала был обещан состав во главе с Лиз Митчелл (Liz Mitchell), но позже стало известно о приезде команды под руководством Фарэлла. И вот, наконец, 4 числа артисты всё же добрались до столицы нового эмирата на просторах бывшего СССР.
Разбогатевший на нефтедолларах Азербайджан теперь может позволить себе развлечения, о которых раньше местная публика и мечтать не могла.
Приезд дорогих заморских звёзд нынче не считается там чем-то экстраординарным, достаточно вспомнить что эта страна потратила рекордную сумму на раскрутку своих претендентов в последних конкурсах EUROVISION.
Поэтому нет ничего удивительного, что появление Boney M. Show feat. Bobby Farrell не вызвало большого ажиотажа у избалованных столичных жителей. Организаторам даже не помогла рекламная кампания с розыгрышем призового автомобиля BMW530, который, в итоге, достался одной из зрительниц, кинувшей номерок своего билета в лототрон.
Тем не менее, как информирует местная пресса, собравшиеся в субботний вечер на шоу Boney M. не были разочарованы. Представление удалось на славу и Бобби смог с полуоборота завести почтеннейшую публику.
А после концерта, как всегда, состоялась встреча с благодарными фанами, были розданы автографы и сделаны фотографии на память.
